The details that make a request useful
A short message is not always enough to plan a first visit. A good form asks for structured details while leaving room for the tenant to explain what happened in their own words.
- The type of issue, such as plumbing, electrical, appliance, flooring, or safety
- Where the issue is located, such as the kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, or exterior
- When it started and whether it needs routine or urgent attention
- A short summary, a detailed description, and optional photos
- Contact information and access preferences for the repair visit
Tenants can use the form without an account
A tenant opens the form in a mobile browser using a valid PatchKey property link. After submitting, the tenant receives a separate tracking link for permitted updates. No app download or tenant password is required.
Private request links should be shared only with the intended tenant. The link identifies the property capability; it does not grant access to the landlord workspace.
Photos and access instructions
Photos can help a landlord understand the issue before contacting a vendor. Access instructions can prevent a wasted visit. Tenants should share only the information needed to coordinate the repair and should never include security codes or sensitive personal information.
